"You can be proud of your dog too! Kobe (my 1 1/2 yr. old Aussie) and I took several classes last winter from Carol, from Level 1 to Pre-Agility... When we return to Whidbey this winter we definitely plan on continuing with "our education".

This summer we are on our own in Nevada, building on what we were taught. I say "You can be proud of your dog too!" because having taken Kobe to different surroundings, new dog-places, etc., I see how well behaved his is (most of the time) compared to dogs who didn't get the training he did. I know that he wouldn't be this way if I hadn't been taught the proper way to train him from Carol.

The training was fun for me as well as Kobe, and we look forward to more classes!"

Most classes meet once a week for an hour for six weeks.

NEW, FUN, & EXCITING
Puppy Kindergarten and Socialization class
for puppies up to 4 months old

These classes will be held with the puppies up to four months and a half months old. The primary purposes of these puppy classes are socialization, which there is a very small window to teach them (up to 4 months) and also includes bite inhibition, and play skills, none of which can happen unless the puppies are interacting with each other.

You will learn to communicate and teach your puppy the rules of playing with humans and other puppies. The class also covers puppy manners such as not jumping, potty training, chewing, name recognition, and how to stop those sharp puppy teeth from making your life miserable. In the four weeks of this course, you will come away with a much less stressful relationship with your new pup, and will look forward to bringing your puppy to Canine Potentials basic obedience class Let's Get Started to continue training.

In my experience, lack of socialization during this critical time is one of the major causes of many behavior issues later in life. Proper socialization is the single most important thing for puppies and at the same time the single most neglected activity. Come and join the fun.

Let's Get Started - This is the foundation class for all of the other classes and the place to learn about living successfully with your dog. Carol will be training you and your family to train your dog. Some of the things your dog will learn to do will be sit, down, stay, come, leave it and walking nice on the leash. You will learn to solve common mistakes dogs make when living with humans like jumping up on you your friends, and the counters. This class is a lot of fun and if you do your part and practice, first at home and then around town you will be amazed at how much you will have accomplished with your dog. $145.00

Canine Good Citizen
- This class is based on the AKC's CGC program. Carol is a certified AKC CGC evaluator. In this series of classes Carol will guide you in the preparation for taking the CGC test in the last class. The foundation for this class is successful completion of the "Let's Get Started" series. To find out more about the test go to www.AKC.org. $120.00

Rally
- Rally is a fun canine sport that builds on the foundation skills learned in "Let's Get Started". Rally uses a course to move dog/handler teams through a series of stations that directs them to perform specific exercises. Rally is an enjoyable way to finish the connection between you and your dog, the movement between stations must be done with tail wagging and a team effort. This class is offered in the summer only as this is taught outdoors. $120.00

Private Sessions

Behavior consultations - Sessions are available in your home or at Canine Potentials, Carol's training facility in Clinton. Fear of people and other dogs, aggression, separation issues, re-homing challenges, new puppy questions, or multiple dog issues are some of the areas Carol can guide you in the one-to-one sessions. Carol has experience in teaching the canine leadership skills people need to live successfully with dogs. Setting your dog up for success while using operant and classical conditioning rules will bring out the best between student and teacher and solve issues. Three sessions are generally required to learn and practice the new skills.
